How many times
Have you uttered “I quit!”
And knew that you could not,
When you thought a bit.

For life cries repeating,
“The task is not done;”
Souls are still lost
That needs to be done.

And how many lessons
Have we yet to face
Before we will learn
The strength of God’s grace.

For we grow and prosper
Through pain gendered strife,
And we sink our roots
When the storms at its height.

Let’s choose closer Heaven
When clouds come our way,
And cherish more dearly
Our privilege to pray.

Yes, we must march onward,
Not sulk in remorse.
Let’s determine to fight,
And finish the course.

Mondays for a preacher...

Most people who would care to read anything that I have written on my blog are aware that I am a preacher. What does this preacher do on Mondays? I usually review what happened on Sunday. Who was there? Who was not there? Did we have any visitors? How well did the services flow? Did what I preach really connect with anyone? How can things be improved at the Church?

Having a blog may help me with this. Do you have any imputs that you would like to share with me?

The Love of God

"Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky...

Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song."
